1-800flowers.com and 1-800baskets.com Cover All Your Christmas Needs
Posted on Dec 19, 2009 under shopping | No CommentChristmas is the busiest time of the year in many stores, and florists are no exception. I don’t like having to search for a parking space, or lining up to pay for my purchases and I certainly don’t appreciate brushing the snow off my car and driving all the way to a store only to find that the holiday shoppers have cleaned them out of what I wanted to buy. That’s why I decided to do all of my shopping online this year. I’m buying all my Christmas Flowers through 1-800flowers.com and instead of scratching my head trying to figure out where to find unique gifts for my friends and family, I’m using 1-800baskets.com for gifts they’ll actually enjoy.
I may sound like a bit of a humbug, but really I do enjoy the holiday season. It’s just that when you get to be my age and mobility can be a bit of an issue, then anything that helps out is appreciated. I don’t do so well in the slippery snow and slush, so the ability to browse through a detailed catalog with beautiful full color photographs of Christmas Flowers, along with pricing and options makes my life a lot easier. If I want to send a Christmas Flower arrangement to one of my friends, or order in a colorful bouquet or two for myself, all I have to do is fire up my web browser or pick up the telephone. My order is delivered to the door and in many cases I can request same day delivery. My niece, who is a little more technically inclined than I am, tells me they even have a holiday iPhone application. This is a company that not only knows its Christmas Flowers, but understands how to use technology to make things easier for their customers.
Speaking of making things easier for the customer, when they opened up the 1-800baskets.com site to showcase their incredible collection of Christmas Gift Baskets, that took care of finding a special gift that’s tailor made for virtually anyone I need to buy a present for. My Scottish neighbor? A Christmas Gift Basket full of buttercream frosted holiday cookies in a tartan box. My iPhone toting niece who never seems to take the time to slow down and enjoy the finer things? A Sheer Vanilla Spa basket full of things I’ve never heard of (but they sound wonderful), like sugar body scrub, hydrating body butter and invigorating shower gel. While I was at it, I splurged and ordered myself the Viansa Vineyards Wine Tasting basket, complete with two bottles of red wine and lots of nibbles to go with it. They even have kosher gift baskets.
Between the two of them, these web sites have all of my holiday needs pretty much sewn up. If they sold groceries as well as Christmas Flowers and Christmas Gift Baskets, I wouldn’t have to venture out into the holiday shopping madness at all.
